Formulated for sensitive noses
Formulated for sensitive noses

Heightened scent sensitivity is common during pregnancy. That’s why we developed the fragrance-free nātelle Pregnancy-Sensitive Scent Matrix used in every formula.

Tested by real pregnant women
Tested by real pregnant women

Before anything reached production, real pregnant women used it, critiqued it and helped refine it. The result: skincare shaped by those it was made for.

Effective and safe. Always both.
Effective and safe. Always both.

‘Pregnancy safe skin care’ often defaults to formulas that sacrifice results. We have designed formulas with carefully selected ingredients to deliver visible results while remaining appropriate for pregnancy.

Barrier-Supportive Ingredients
Barrier-Supportive Ingredients

Pregnancy can compromise the skin barrier, leading to dryness, sensitivity and irritation. Every formula is backed by clinical evidence, designed to actively support and restore it.

You shouldn't have to choose between safe and effective.

You shouldn't have to choose between safe and effective.

Many women searching for pregnancy-safe skincare discover that most options prioritise simplicity over results. nātelle exists because that's not good enough. There is a better way, built on evidence with no compromise.

Effective skincare and pregnancy considerations shouldn't be opposites. They're our starting point.

Everything you need to know about pregnancy-safe skincare, our products, and how the system works.

Yes. nātelle products are formulated specifically for pregnancy, using ingredients not contraindicated during pregnancy and avoiding prescription retinoids and hydroquinone.1,5 Most over-the-counter topical skincare has minimal systemic absorption. Share our full ingredient lists with your midwife, GP, or dermatologist if you have specific concerns.

Yes. Most cosmetic skincare is considered safe during breastfeeding.1 We formulate fragrance-free, barrier-first products and avoid hydroquinone, which has higher systemic absorption than most topical ingredients. Avoid applying products to areas where your baby's mouth may directly contact skin.

Avoid prescription topical retinoids (tretinoin) and hydroquinone, the two categories most consistently flagged by dermatologists.1,5 Many other ingredients have limited pregnancy-specific data rather than proven harm. When in doubt, a simple routine is the most cautious approach. nātelle is formulated to remove this guesswork.

No. nātelle does not formulate with prescription retinoids or vitamin A derivatives in any product.

Yes. Ceramides and barrier lipids are key components of healthy skin function and are safe and beneficial during pregnancy.2 Hormonal shifts can compromise barrier integrity, increasing dryness and sensitivity, barrier-first formulation is central to everything we make.

Yes. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant naturally present in the body and is widely considered safe throughout pregnancy and postpartum. It is a core ingredient in our hydration formulas.

Yes, at standard cosmetic concentrations. AHAs have minimal systemic absorption at typical topical use levels.1,5 Mandelic acid is often preferred during pregnancy as a gentler, larger-molecular option. Reduce frequency if skin becomes more reactive and stop if irritation occurs.

Yes. Vitamin C derivatives at standard cosmetic concentrations are considered safe for topical use in pregnancy.3 They support brightness and antioxidant protection. We use vitamin C derivatives rather than high-concentration pure ascorbic acid for stability and tolerability on pregnancy-sensitised skin.

Yes. Niacinamide (vitamin B3) is widely considered safe for topical use in pregnancy and is used throughout our range.1,6 It supports barrier function, oil balance, and helps the appearance of uneven tone, one of the most useful pregnancy-compatible actives available.

Speak with your prescribing doctor or dermatologist before adding or stopping anything from your routine. nātelle is designed to complement, not replace, medical care. If you would like guidance on how our products might work alongside your prescription, contact us directly.

Bakuchiol, niacinamide, and vitamin C derivatives are the most widely used pregnancy-compatible alternatives for skin texture, tone, and clarity.2,3 Bakuchiol is a plant-derived ingredient that supports the appearance of smooth, even skin without using the retinoid category.3 Introduce any new active gradually and patch test first.

Yes, at lower frequency and with gentler options. AHAs at cosmetic concentrations have minimal systemic exposure.1,5 Mandelic acid is a preferred choice as it is gentler and less irritating. Limit to once or twice a week and stop entirely if sensitivity increases, barrier restoration takes priority.

Focus on a gentle, consistent routine: non-stripping cleanser, niacinamide, and daily SPF.2,5 Benzoyl peroxide is considered safe at low concentrations as a targeted spot treatment. Prescription retinoids should be avoided. If acne is severe or scarring, involve your GP or dermatologist early for pregnancy-appropriate options.

Prioritise barrier repair: gentle cleanser, humectant serum (hyaluronic acid), and a ceramide-rich moisturiser.2 Avoid over-stripping with harsh cleansers or over-exfoliating. Add actives back only once comfort is stable. Hormonal shifts can significantly affect oil production and barrier function, particularly in the first and third trimesters.

Reduce active frequency immediately, drop from nightly to every 2-3 nights. Pare your routine back to cleanser, moisturiser and SPF only.1 Reintroduce one product at a time once comfort is stable, and patch test before bringing actives back. Pregnancy hormones can meaningfully change how skin tolerates products you have used for years.2

Daily broad-spectrum SPF is the single most important step, no other treatment works effectively without it.6 Vitamin C derivatives, niacinamide and nicotinamide are pregnancy-compatible options for supporting the appearance of even skin tone.3 Hydroquinone is best avoided during pregnancy due to higher systemic absorption.1

Yes. Our range is designed for all stages of the pregnancy journey. Our formulas use ingredients considered appropriate throughout conception, pregnancy and postpartum. Starting before pregnancy means your routine is already established when your skin begins to shift. Start with the Trimester 1 Kit.

Patch test first: apply a small amount to the inner forearm or behind the ear for 24–48 hours.1 Introduce one new product at a time with at least a week between additions. Start at lower frequency and build up gradually. Stop if irritation occurs and rebuild your baseline before trying again.

T1: Hormonal surge often increases oil and breakouts: prioritise gentle clarity actives and SPF.
T2: Skin may settle but pigmentation begins: add vitamin C and maintain SPF daily.
T3: Peak reactivity with barrier stress: prioritise hydration and repair over actives.
Postpartum: Focus on reset and gentle reintroduction of paused actives.2

AM: Gentle cleanser → vitamin C or niacinamide serum → barrier moisturiser → SPF (non-negotiable).
PM: Gentle cleanser → bakuchiol or niacinamide serum → barrier moisturiser.

Introduce one new product at a time.1 A simple, consistent routine outperforms a complex, inconsistent one — especially during pregnancy.

Each kit is curated for the skin concerns most common at that stage. Active choices and formulation emphasis shift to match the hormonal and barrier changes typical for that trimester. As your skin changes, you switch kits — we guide you on timing, but you can follow your skin rather than a strict trimester boundary.

Yes. Every formula is reviewed by a dermatologist with expertise in pregnancy skin before production, independent professional review of ingredient choice and concentration, not just a general safety check.

Yes. While our range is designed as complete stage-based system, individual kits are available to purchase separately if you prefer.

Trimester boundaries are a guide, not a rule. If your skin is shifting, new breakouts, new sensitivity, new dryness, that is often the right signal to reassess your stage. If you are between trimesters and unsure, complete the skin quiz to find your routine and help you choose the right kit.
